Mikail Ekinci (28) was a fugitive in a homicide case that occurred in Diyarbakır’s Çermik district in 2021. Despite an arrest warrant issued for him and four operations conducted, he could not be found. A fifth operation was planned for 1 April 2023, in coordination of several units such as the Public Security Bureau, Homicide Bureau, Special Operations Bureau, and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Bureau with an operation team of 300 soldiers. The drone operator found Mikail Ekinci leaving the barn and trying to escape towards the stream. With the guidance of the drone operator, Mikail Ekinci was shot. Although the drone operator recorded the entire incident and directed the police officers, the moment of death was not recorded, meaning the video recording was cut off at the moment of death.
